Henrik Haven, based in Copenhagen, Denmark is a very appreciated photographer specialized in documenting contemporary and public art both from gallery exhibitions, large scale public art projects and studio visits. His photos are published in the leading magazines, blogs and social networking sites all over the world. Now Henrik sets down in Borås during No Limit Street Art.
Last year Steven P. Harrington and Jaime Rojo of Brooklyn Street Art curiously followed Swedens new street art festival No Limit via online- and social media. They liked what they saw and posted a blog, ending up as an article in the online version of Huffington Post. This year they both will be following the festival on spot in Borås.
Den första platsen för nya verk under årets No Limit är klar. Det är kanadensiska konstnärinnan Laurence Vallières som flyttar in i Borås nybyggda mötesplats Orangeriet, mitt i vackra Stadsparken.
Inside out är ett globalt gatukonstprojekt som initierats av den franske konstnären JR. Genom projektet blir den mänskliga identiteten transformerad till konst. Kraftigt förenklat, stora fotografier av människor samlas till en gigantisk mosaik av bilder i det offentliga rummet.
No Limit Street Art har idag tilldelats Borås Stadsbyggnadspris i kategorin ”mark, landskap och stadsmiljö” under en prisutdelningsceremoni i Orangeriet i centrala Borås. Priset delas ut vart tredje år och lyfter goda exempel inom arkitektur och stadsbyggnad i Borås.
Den 22-24 maj står Borås Toastmasterklubb som värd för en europeisk kongress med ca 250 deltagare. Delegaterna kommer bland annat att få lyssna på 2014 års världsmästare i Public Speaking, Dananjaya Hettiarachchi. Dananjaya vann förra året i konkurrens med över 33,000 deltagare från 120 länder.
Here it is, this is the line up for the 2015 festival, and we´re happy to present 12 international artists from around the world attending No Limit Street Art Borås. On the 3-6th of September, the Swedish town Borås once again will open it´s walls to public art.
Born in Los Angeles in 1978, Tristan began pursuing street art as a teenager, painting everything from walls to billboards in the urban landscape wherever he lived, including London, Detroit and Brooklyn. After growing up on comic books, graffiti and skateboard culture, Tristan designed his first toy for Fisher Price at 18 years old and began working as an artist full-time.
Logan Hicks is a New York-based artist known for his photorealistic stenciled paintings. Studying at the Maryland Institute of Contemporary Art in the early 1990s, Hicks cut his teeth as a successful screen printer, before being inspired to branch into stencils.
Varje helg under perioden 18 april till 7 juni erbjuder kulturstaden Borås tio konstvandringar med alltifrån street art, skulpturer, arkitektur, textil och måleri till pop- och fotokonst. Det är Abecita Konstmuseum, Borås Konstmuseum, No Limit Street Art, Textilmuseet och Textile Fashion Center som nu tar ett samlat grepp under rubriken ”Staden som galleri”.

Muralist devoted to street art, specifically to graffiti, since age 15. In parallel he studied at the Fine Arts School of Viña del Mar. Despite criticism from detractors of artistic expression in public spaces, his works won a space on the streets and buildings of Valparaiso, first, and then in cities all over the world.
Born in Québec city in 1986 this young artist was discovered by the creation of large-scale sculptures in cardboard. She studied at Concordia University in visual arts before doing an exchange program in Los Angeles to further her knowledge in ceramics. It’s only after graduation and doing an artist residency in Russia that she appropriated the street art influence in her work.
